The title of Rabbi is synonymous with Teacher or Master in the Bible.
Jesus is referred
to by one of these titles:
He also preached in synagogues and even the temple. It seems certain that by the time he started his ministry he had earned the right to be called Rabbi, Teacher or Master. |
Which was Jesus' Sect? At the time of Jesus, there were three
religious sects - the Sadducees, the Pharisees, and the Essenses. |
When Jesus began his ministry, therefore, he would have been a Rabbi in the Sect of the Essenes.
